eBlind is a Michigan non-profit corporation with 501(C)(3) status (tax deductible) founded on May 5, 1999 as a way of commemorating the Pontiac Lions Club's 75th Anniversary.   

It was felt that with so many emerging technologies, it was very important that these technologies be made available to the blind and visually impaired, and that a full time qualified instructor in this area be made available so that people wanting to investigate and learn such technologies could access such technologies.

The first area of concentration is a screen reading devices of which we offer either JAWS (Henter-Joyce, Inc.), or WindowEyes (GW Micro, Inc.).   With the ability to work with a screen reading program a user will be ready to continue their education related to computers with very little restriction, if any.
